The controversial Tropicana redesign is rolling back to its previous design after an onslaught of negative feedback.
A tipster tells us that Pentagram principal, Paula Scher, states in her Facebook status update:
“Paula Scher thinks that the Tropicana recall will be the worst thing that happened to graphic design since focus testing.”
I found this pretty amusing. i noticed the new packaging in the delis around the city and was not impressed at all. I mean hello, Tropicana is all about that candy striped straw poked in the orange exemplifying freshness. not that i’m an avid orange juice drinker (altho i should be), but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. sometimes packaging can act as a means of nostalgia given that this brand has been around for ages.
